Camaya Coast: A Quick Escape from the City

Last May 10, 2014, my sister and her partner celebrated their 8th anniversary. My cousin and I were very lucky because they asked us to come with them (to be their photographer) at Camaya Coast, Mariveles, Bataan.

We bought this Day tour package from MetroDeal for only 799, inclusive of round trip ferry transfers, buffet lunch, and 30 minutes kayaking. My sister and I were actually looking for the nearest beach in Manila, and when we saw this in MetroDeal, we thought we got a very good deal.

We went to Sun Cruises ferry in PICC at 7 AM, we were too early, and we waited for the other 100 plus passengers, I think we sailed at around 8:30 AM. The ride took about an hour and a half. It was a smooth sailing ride and we were all comfortable, the boat is big and air-conditioned.

We arrived at Camaya Coast at around 10 AM, since the ferry cannot dock, there was a floating rubber walkway going to the beach, we walked slowly as it was shaky and of course we took photos on our way.

Upon arrival at the beach, we were greeted by the Camaya Coast staff, they have inspected our bags, and I think, food is not allowed. We then went straight to the served buffet lunch. There were lots of foods, the line was quite long, since apart from the 100 plus passengers we travelled with, and there were other tourists. The food was great, and lots of options to choose from, especially the desserts.

Our package does not include a room accommodation, but there were free lockers in the building where we changed and showered.

Since the sun was already up high that afternoon, so we went first to the infinity pool. There was a jacuzzi attached to it, it was very relaxing. Of course, we took a lot of pictures, and swim. The pool is beautifully designed, and there were lots of lounging chairs and also rattan loungers in the area. Oh and there was a kiddie pool too.

We then went to the beach around 2:30PM, the sand of Camaya Coast beach was cream or slight whitish, clean and fine, but not powdery fine. The waters at the beach was also clear and clean but not blue, it was a little greenish that time. At the beach there were more rattan loungers, chairs and umbrellas, we took many photos there. The activities available are kayaking, banana boat, there were also people offering massage, and I heard a group of people singing in a videok, and also free bicycle ride. We just went kayaking and biking, since the other activities were not for free. LOL!

The rest of the afternoon we just played in the sand, took more photos and ate halo-halo. Well, since it was my sister’s anniversary, I took some of their “pre-nup” photos. LOL! The view in the beach was very scenic and we just have to do a photo-shoot there.

Overall, Camaya Coast is another beach destination near Manila that is perfect for a quick escape from the city. If you don’t have that much time to travel, the place is perfect for you to relax in a weekend getaway. I say the 799 pesos is worth it!

Thanks for reading and have a blessed day!
